A prestigious Gold Coast restaurant favoured by A-lister celebs was at the centre of a cocaine drug ring, a court has heard.
The Saks Restaurant and Bar at Marina Mirage closed five months ago after head chef, Benjamin Craig Maconachie, 26 was arrested for drug charges.
He has now admitted to teaming up with fellow chef Braden Quan and security guard James Mottiski to sell the drug, The Courier Mail reports.

The 26-year-old former head chef has admitted to being a ‘mid-level’ cocaine trafficker during his time in the prestigious kitchen.
He was handed a suspended three year sentence for the crime on June 21.
The prosecution facts revealed Maconachie would sell cocaine for $2000 a bag and tell customers they could buy the drug from Quan.

The Supreme Court head the head chef went to Quan’s Mermaid Waters home to collect the drug for Mottiski five times.
The head chef told his psychologist he was ‘blinded by the party world’ during his time of offending. He has since become ‘clean’ and works at the Golf Club in Southport.
