Paris Hilton says that surrogacy was a 'difficult decision'

Paris Hilton has said that choosing to bring her children into the world by surrogacy was a “difficult decision to make” in a new interview.

Paris Hilton, who now has two children, Pheonix, 10 months, and a newborn, London, said that she chose to go down the surrogacy route due to her life being “so public” but said that the two youngsters were “biologically” her and her husband’s, Carter Reum, children.

Opening up about not giving birth to her children, the celebrity said that she chose to have another woman carry them because of how “public” her life is.

“Surrogacy was a difficult decision to make,” she said in the season two premiere of her reality series Paris in Love, “I would have loved that experience of growing the baby in your tummy and feeling the kicks and all of those exciting moments, but my life has just been so public.

“So even though the baby is biologically mine and Carter’s, we decided to have a surrogate carry him.”

Carter, who Paris Hilton has been married to since 2021, also shared his thoughts on her using surrogacy in a confessional clip. He said: “Now having a family with Paris, we want our family to grow up and be normal and not always be known as Paris Hilton’s children. We have to think about safety.

“When we go to the farmer’s market, it’s one thing if someone stops and asks Paris for a photo. It’s a whole other thing with the baby in tow in a stroller. I don’t think we know everything the journey’s gonna throw at us, but we’re just gonna tackle it as we go.”

A night out with royalty

Paris recently revealed that she had partied with royalty as appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen with her mom Kathy and said that she had met both Prince William and his younger brother Prince Harry. She said that she partied with the pair and music icon Christina Aguilera.

She explained that they had spent the night dancing away at the London Hilton in Park Lane with Kathy confirming that she had “seen a picture of it.”

When Andy asked if she had felt any “flirty energy” with either William or Harry, she said that she hadn’t but that everyone had “a fun night.”

Paris faces trolls

Paris spoke out last month on her Instagram Stories after Pheonix was trolled for having a ‘big head.’

The TV star penned: “Living life in the spotlight, comments are inevitable, but targeting my child, or anyone else’s for that matter, is unacceptable.

“This hurts my heart more deeply than words can describe. I’ve worked hard to cultivate an environment that is all about love, respect, and acceptance, and I expect the same in return.”

She continued by saying that no matter whether she posted pictures of her child or not, people would judge her.

“If I don’t post my baby, people assume I’m not a great mother, and if I do post him, there are some people who are cruel and hateful. I’m a proud working mom and my baby is perfectly healthy, adorable, and angelic.

“I’ve dreamt of being a mom for as long as I can remember. Phoenix is my world and has been the biggest blessing of my life. Every day with him is a reminder of what truly matters. It’s hard to fathom that there are people in the world who would target such innocence. I hope that people can treat one another with more kindness and empathy.”
